In yoga nidra, mental rest is achieved through physical and emotional relaxation and this provides an ideal basis for meditation. Likewise, the mind becomes clearer during meditation and this allows for easy relaxation in yoga nidra.
Yoga nidra: Deep relaxation or yogic sleep. It is a method to consciously relax deeply. It is a passive practice.
Meditation: Calming the thoughts in the mind. There are various ways of concentration that are used to liberate the mind. It is a dynamic practice.
