Aidan started Iyengar yoga classes in London in 1997. He completed the Iyengar two-year basic level teaching training in 2006, and has continued to study and take further assessments since. He currently holds a Level 3 certification.
Aidan has been lucky enough to study over long periods with very experienced teachers in the UK as well as visiting India several times to enrich his understanding. Teachers that he has studied with include Geeta Iyengar, Sheila Haswell, Gulnaaz Dashti, Stephane Lalo, Billy Konrad, Swati & Rajiv Chanchani, Manuso Manos, Ros Bell and Marios Argiros.
Over his yoga journey he has become increasingly attracted to the practices of Pranayama and the study of the philosophy of yoga. Initially he focussed his studies on the yoga sutras of Patanjali but has more recently become interested in many other wisdom traditions especially non-dual Tantric Shaivism, and Bhuddism. He is also a keen student of the history of yoga and the use of yoga as a therapeutic tool for body and mind.
Aidan is passionate about the transformative potential of yoga and loves to share this with students. He loves the fact that it can be useful for so many different types of people in so many different ways.
Aidan moved to Istanbul in 2009 and has taught at many studios there, especially YogaŞala. He continues his other work as a musician/producer and also as a director of Heliotrope Yoga Holidays.
