Ashtanga Mysore Sessions with Heather Serna
Heather will teach Mysore style self-practice on Sept 29th- October 1st.
Mysore style is the traditional method for practicing Ashtanga Yoga. Participants practice independently a set series of postures at their own pace, under the guidance of a Mysore Yoga Expert. If you have only practiced Ashtanga with a teacher providing cues for each pose, this practice is different in that teacher guides you to practice the Ashtanga sequence by memory. This is a personal teaching style designed for your specific needs and your background in yoga. All skill levels are welcome.
The studio will be open and available for you to come practice at your convenience from 7:00 to 9:30 (please arrive no later than 8:45 am)

Authorized Level 2 Ashtanga Yoga Teacher
Heather started her journey in yoga during her last year of college, in 2007. After graduating with a BA in Psychology, she made her first trip to Mysore, India in 2008 to practice at K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute. Ever since, she has continued her travels and studies to Mysore, to practice under her teacher R. Sharath Jois and assist him at the main shala. In 2012, Heather was blessed upon receiving Authorization from KPJAYI, now Sharath Yoga Centre. Over the years, Heather developed three Mysore programs in the United States (Florida), and has taught internationally in Indonesia, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Cyprus, Turkey, Lebanon, the Netherlands and around the USA.
After years of travel and teaching abroad, Heather is excited to be back home and teach the Mysore program at Yoga Village in Clearwater, Florida.
Heather is known to share her love for the practice. Her teachings are in a safe, gentle but firm way, that acknowledges every student's capabilities in order to start a process of self-discovery. It is an honor for her to pass along this sacred practice.
