2022 JIVAMUKTI WORKSHOPS ISTANBUL
DIVING DEEP: AN EXPLORATION OF JIVAMUKTI YOGA with YOGESWARI
Founded in 1984 by Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York, the Jivamukti Yoga method provides a path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings. A rigorous asana/vinyasa practice is embedded in a framework of 5 pillars that are based on classical yoga: shastra (scripture study), ahimsa (non-violence), nada (sound), bhakti (devotion) and dhyana (meditation). Treat yourself to an in-depth exploration of this grace-filled, multi-facetted and artistic method with one of its most senior teachers. Originally from Switzerland, Yogeswari has been teaching Jivamukti Yoga for over 20 years in New York and internationally. She is one of the principal facilitators of Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Trainings and was mentioned by Sonima as one of the 100 most influential yoga teachers in the US. Her classes are known for seamless vinyasa sequences, thought provoking teachings and a soundtrack of world music, hip Indian beats and Sanskrit mantras. www.jivamuktiyoga.com / www.yogeswari.org.

SATURDAY, 10/1
YogaŞala Nişantaşı
FLOWING INTO AN OPEN HEART WITH BACKBENDS (Nisantasi 10:00-13:00)
Backbends are an age-old recipe for letting go of muscular contractions and emotional hardening in the heart region. This unleashes the discovery of an unlimited potential for physical, emotional and spiritual release and freedom. Emphasis here will be on the importance of the legs to make backbends safe and effective. Spiritual teachings will be drawn from the Jivamukti Focus of the Month.
AFTERNOON (15:00-18:00)
YogaŞala Nişantaşı
1hr: THE SHAD DARSHANA AS A DOOR TO UNDERSTANDING THE UNIVERSALITY OF YOGA
Yoga is an applied life philosophy that includes the scientific, theistic and non-theistic approaches of six main philosophical schools, each responding to existential questions in slightly different ways. This is the beauty that makes yoga philosophy tolerant, broad-minded and universal.
2hrs: ALIGNMENT & ASSISTS
After two plus years of Covid restrictions with little possibility for live teaching and assists, this workshop will revisit some of the main alignment energetic principles that are present in all asanas, as well as a blueprint for hands-on assists that may guide the practitioner safely towards optimal alignment. Both teachers and practitioners. Are welcome.
SUNDAY, 10/2 (11:00-14:00)
YogaŞala Etiler
SPIRALLING TOWARDS HANDSTAND
A WORKSHOP ON TWISTS AND INVERSIONS
Twists cleanse the body, mind and energetic field of stagnant, strong emotions, so we may create the space within ourselves to perceive a reality beyond the confines of selfishness and our own, personal dramas. Inversions permit us to see the world upside down, thus enhancing the breadth of our perception. The centers of higher consciousness are stimulated, and through a complete reversal of gravity, stagnant physiological processes are activated and rejuvenated. Spiritual teachings will be drawn from the Jivamukti Focus of the Month.
FEE : 600 TL (Everey Single ws )
